Jack F. Harper

Mr. Jack F. Harper is the founder and partner at Hedloc Investment Company.
Mr. Harper was executive vice president, Lower 48, and a member of the executive committee at ConocoPhillips prior to his retirement from the company in January 2023. Prior to his roles with ConocoPhillips, Mr. Harper served in various executive roles at Concho Resources, including as president from 2017 to 2021, when the company merged with ConocoPhillips. Other roles at Concho included chief financial officer, executive vice president, and chief of staff. Prior to joining Concho, he served in various capacities related to finance, corporate planning and strategy, capital markets, and business development at Unocal Corporation, Pure Resources, Inc., and Tom Brown, Inc.
In addition, Mr. Harper co-founded Hedloc Investment Company and Shack Ventures, LP in 2005; these entities are both focused on energy and real estate investments.
Mr. Harper is on the board of directors of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank, El Paso Branch, and serves as president of the Midland Wildcat Committee and as treasurer and member of the executive committee of the Permian Strategic Partnership. Additionally, he serves on the board of trustees of the Abell-Hanger Foundation and on the board of governors for the Bynum School, Midland Shared Spaces, and the Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center, all located in Midland, Texas.
Mr. Harper is married to Shelley Davis Harper, who earned a BBA from Baylor in 1992. Mr. Harper earned a BBA in finance from Baylor in 1993. They have three daughters: Ferrell (24), Caroline (23), and Oliva (20).
