Carlos Ramón
Mr. Carlos Ramón is a global technology executive, entrepre- neur, and board leader with over 30 years of experience scaling tech organizations worldwide. A proud Baylor alumnus, Carlos was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, and began his journey at Baylor’s Rogers Engineering Building, where he earned a BS in computer engineering, discovered his Christian faith, and met his wife, Laurie Edgar Ramón (BA ’89)—milestones that shaped his life and leadership.
Mr. Ramón has held senior roles at public tech companies including PeopleSoft, Akamai, and Silver Spring. He later served as CEO of Conviva, president of Veriforce, and now serves as founder and executive chairman of Uniply. He has served on the boards of Avetta, 1010data, Vyla, EdgeTheory, VAS, and Capsifi, and he is an executive advisor at Riverwood Capital.
Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and French—and still working on his English—Carlos is passionate about mentoring students, fostering global exchange, and helping leaders scale with pur- pose. He and Laurie live in Nashville with their two chocolate labradors and are active members of Covenant Presbyterian Church. They have three children: Rebeca, who works in tech in New York City; Bella, who is studying art in London; and Gabriel, who is a Baylor student studying finance and data science.
The Ramón family considers it a full-circle blessing to return to Baylor—walking the campus, cheering on Gabriel at soccer matches, and supporting the university that helped shape their shared journey. Mr. Ramón now serves on the Board of Advocates for Baylor’s School of Engineering and Computer Science—the program that defined his faith, future, and calling.
