James "JD" McDonald

Mr. James “JD” McDonald is a graduate student working toward a Master of Divinity in Baylor’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary with concentrations in both theology, ecology, and food justice (TEFJ) and biblical languages. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in biblical studies, a Bachelor of Social Work, and a Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling before coming to Baylor.
Licensed as a minister of the Gospel by Central Baptist Church of Johnson City, Tennessee, Mr. McDonald has worked in youth ministry, outpatient therapy, school-based social work, cross-cultural ministry, and chaplaincy. He currently serves as an associate pastor to children, youth, and their families.
In his free time, Mr. McDonald can be found hiking, camping, playing guitar, gardening, and eating good food all in the company of friends and family.
